To A Young Father

My Letter To A Young Father

Dear Young Father,

I write this letter to you, young father, to encourage, inspire and uplift as you embark upon this lifelong journey called, fatherhood. Whether you've had exceptional examples of noble fathers in your lifetime or have yet to meet a compassionate confident man of valor. I say this, you are well equipped to succeed at this thing called, fatherhood.

May this moment in time serve as a letter of recognition intended to empower you during life’s storms. Remember that you’ve already won the battle by showing up for your offspring. As you continue to mature in the fatherhood journey at home, in the community, and globally; I want to thank and commend you for the stellar job you are doing.

Many men who came before you may have walked a sub-par path due to the rough course laid before them. But you, my fellow father, possess a new vision for the future. A vision filled with foundational principles to build up life, business, partnerships and above all, fathers.

I too, walk this unpaved path unafraid and unapologetically seeking wisdom, strength, and courage through the lens of vulnerability. My selfishness, arrogance, pride, and toxic masculinity has been transformed into understanding, compassion, commitment, and consistently the moment I became a father.

Although this road is not paved for our comfort, we do possess many tools to demolish the generational dysfunction. We must begin to construct a stronger foundation for our children's children’s children.

So as I conclude this letter to you, being a young father myself. I leave you with these words of uplift. Remember that we are all journeymen tradesmen who are set on the intentional path to mastery. As architectects, engineers, entrepreneurs, and bridge builders building brighter futures for our youth; we must sacrifice, be committed, and have fortitude.

Each brick will symbolize strength, confidence, compassion, inner peace, and most importantly love. Amid the weakness, trials & tribulations, regret, and the doubt, we will remain steadfast on our assignment as kingly statesmen. As the world evolves, we must continue to adapt, adjust, then ascend by doing our due diligence to leave a lasting legacy behind that will impact many future generations to come.

Yours truly,

A young father
